The Beggars Arkive BBC sessions is a UK-based limited edition subscription series featuring ten sessions recorded for John Peel. As promised, a selection of the sessions will be available individually in very limited numbers to North American customers, and so far these have included The Fall, Stereolab and Bauhaus.

Today, we are happy to announce that the U.S. black vinyl version of the 1979 BBC Radio Session from TUBEWAY ARMY is available from our webstore and bandcamp now.

Tubeway Army was the name of Gary Numan’s band. Formed in 1977, their self-titled debut album was released at the tail end of 1978. In addition to Gary, the band consisted of Paul Gardiner on bass and backing vocals and Jess Lidyard on drums.

John Peel was an early supporter of the band. This was their first Peel session, and it was recorded at Maida Vale on January 10th, 1979 and was broadcast on January 16th.
