Beggars Arkive will release The Charlatans - “The Only One I Know” 12” picture disc in the US on April 18th. “The Only One I Know” was The Charlatans second ever single and the lead track from their 1990 debut album Some Friendly, released via Beggars Banquet imprint Situation Two. The audio for this release has been remastered by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road and also features tracks “Imperial 109” and “Everything Changed”. “The Only One I Know” became a Manchester anthem. Blending swirling Hammond organ, infectious basslines and Tim Burgess’s dreamy vocals, the track peaked at #9 on the UK charts. A defining moment in the baggy era, it remains a club favourite and a key part of the band’s legacy. Over 30 years later, now remastered and available on picture disc, its hypnotic groove is set to captivate listeners for decades still to come.
